Clashes erupt in UP’s Mahoba after stone pelting during Ganesh idol procession

A clash broke out between two communities in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district after stones were allegedly pelted at devotees during a Ganesh idol immersion.
According to the allegations, buckets of water and stones were thrown at the devotees while they were proceeding for the immersion through the Muslim-dominated City Kotwali area.
This led to a clash between the two communities.
Angered by the incident, Hindu organisations created chaos outside the police station, demanding action.
Similar incidents were reported from other parts of the country. In Bihar’s Rafiganj, tension prevailed when members of one community allegedly raised slogans against another during a Ganesh idol immersion procession.
In Gujarat’s Surat district on September 9, some minors reportedly threw stones at a Ganesh pandal, leading to the arrest of seven people in connection with the incident.
On September 7, stones were allegedly thrown at a Ganpati procession in Madhya Pradesh’s Mochipura, resulting in violent protests afterward.
